About the Company
Tuhia ki te rang. Tuhia kit te whenua. Tuhia ki te ngakau or te tangata. Ko te mea nui? Ko te aroha!
Write it in the sky. Write it in the land. Write it in the hearts of the people. What is the greatest thing? It is love!
Taradale Anglican is a community of churches and congregations that seeks to serve God through serving their suburb, village, and their city. Having been in Napier for nearly 150 years, our communities have been at the heart of Taradale, Tamatea, Meeanee and Puketapu for generations.
As a community we live a mixed tradition, holding to those things from ancient times that serve the church and God, while constantly reforming to ensure we can meet God in what God is doing right now, today. In our communities, that means that sometimes there are robes and structured liturgy, other times there is unstructured contemporary worship. Sometimes we use the prayer book, and sometimes we throw the book away, get on the floor with the kids, and do crafts and activities that connect them with God.
If that all sounds a little messy and unclear, you’re right. We don’t get caught up in looking the part for anyone. Instead, we want to worship God that has called us all to be saints in the kingdom of heaven and who meets us in Christ, the son.
