If anyone wishes to attend a course, please let Penny Hales know.  Registration forms and other information are available on the Intranet or by contacting Penny on 021 240 3402 or emailing penny.hales@waiapu.com.

The material in the course covers some difficult issues such as abuse of all kinds, as well as the history of the church here and overseas, how abuse was covered up, and why the Archbishops have indicated to the Royal Commission that safeguarding is a priority for the Anglican Church in Aotearoa.

Some of the material may be difficult for some however Penny and Deborah offer support in such situations. It is important that abuse in all its guises is recognised by everyone so that we can ensure it does not happen into the future.

Deborah and Penny receive feedback from every session they deliver and are very aware of how people have reacted.  One of the comments received frequently is that the attendees did not believe it was necessary to attend the training.  In such cases everyone has commented that it was not what they had expected, and that it was relevant and helpful.  Approximately 95% of the feedback is positive.
