Synod has moved a motion to ensure that the most vulnerable in our society have an advocate through the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu to speak out about legislation and policies that impact on the vulnerable such as health, housing, social security, violence, and abuse.
Penny Hales, the Safeguarding Manager has been tasked with actioning the motion and is seeking interested individuals to join a focus group to meet regularly to discuss relevant topics and produce reports or articles in support of the vulnerable.
The group will rely on contributions from others within the church to put forward topics for discussion and action, ensuring everyone can participate in the process.
Please email Penny Hales penny.hales@waiapu.com if you would be interested in participating in this project.
